Glinded, Inc. (the “Company”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.
For purposes of this Agreement, “Site” refers to the Company's website, which can be accessed at www.glinded.com, including any associated application programming interfaces (APIs), Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and services accessible through third-party artificial intelligence platforms such as Claude (provided by Anthropic), ChatGPT (provided by OpenAI), Gemini (provided by Google), or similar AI assistants.
“Service” refers to the Company's services accessed via the Site, in which users can upload photos, videos, and audio files, and use AI-assisted tools to compose them into memorial videos and family celebration videos.
The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company. “You” refers to you, as a user of our Site or our Service.
By accessing our Site or our Service, you accept our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
I. Information We Collect
We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.”
Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit, and number of clicks.
Personal Information includes your email address, the display name and basic profile identifier shared by your sign-in provider, and any personal content you upload to the Service (such as photographs, videos, and audio files that may contain images of identifiable individuals), which you submit to us through the registration process and use of the Service.
1. Information Collected via Technology
To activate the Service you do not need to submit any Personal Information other than your email address. To use the Service thereafter, you may upload photographs, videos, and audio files which may contain Personal Information about you or others.
In an effort to improve the quality of the Service, we track information provided to us by your browser or by our software application when you view or use the Service, such as the website you came from (known as the “referring URL”), the type of browser you use, the device from which you connected to the Service, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you.
We track this information using cookies, or small text files which include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to a user's browser from our servers and are stored on the user's computer hard drive. Sending a cookie to a user's browser enables us to collect Non-Personal information about that user and keep a record of the user's preferences when utilizing our services, both on an individual and aggregate basis.
For example, the Company may use cookies to collect the following information:
- Session information to keep you logged in
- User preferences and settings
- Analytics data about how you use the Service
The Company may use both persistent and session cookies; persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your session and until you delete them, while session cookies expire when you close your browser.
2. Information You Provide by Registering for an Account
In addition to the information provided automatically by your browser when you visit the Site, to become a subscriber to the Service you will need to create a personal profile. You create a profile by registering with the Service through a third-party sign-in (OAuth) provider, which shares your email address and display name with us. Because sign-in is handled by these providers, we never receive or store your password. By registering, you are authorizing us to collect, store and use your email address in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
3. User-Uploaded Content
When you use the Service, you may upload photographs, videos, and audio files (“User Content”). This User Content may contain Personal Information about you or third parties, including but not limited to images of identifiable individuals. By uploading User Content, you represent that you have all necessary rights and permissions to share such content, including any required consent from individuals depicted in the content.
Because User Content may include images of identifiable individuals, it can constitute sensitive or special-category data in some jurisdictions. We process it only as strictly necessary to compose the video you request, on the basis of your consent. We may detect the presence and position of faces to frame scenes well, but we do not perform facial recognition, attempt to identify individuals, or use your content for profiling.
4. Information Processed by AI Systems
When you use our AI-Assisted Services, your inputs (including text instructions and uploaded media) may be processed by third-party AI providers such as Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), and Google (Gemini). This processing is necessary to provide the Service's core functionality. The information processed may include:
- Text instructions and commands you provide
- Metadata and content descriptions generated from your uploaded media
- Thumbnails and reduced-resolution versions of your images and videos
5. Children's Privacy
The Site and the Service are not directed to anyone under the age of 18. The Site does not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 18, or allow anyone under the age of 18 to sign up for the Service. In the event that we learn that we have gathered personal information from anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us at help@glinded.com.
6. Other Information We Collect
In the course of providing the Service, we also collect and process the following categories of information:
- File metadata: embedded metadata in your uploaded files where present, such as capture date and time, dimensions, and duration, which we use to order and frame the scenes in your video.
- Project content: the composition we generate for your project, the assets it references, your music selections, and your project titles, descriptions, and render status.
- Tool inputs: the parameters the assistant sends when it calls a Glinded tool on your behalf, including free-form text fields such as the project context you provide and the instructions used to shape your video (for example, story-arc and composition guidance). We do not receive your full conversation transcript with the assistant; we receive only the specific tool inputs the assistant sends on your behalf, which may include free text you typed.
- Music search queries: the free-text descriptions of the music you are looking for, which we pass to our music search providers.
- Billing information: a customer identifier and your plan or tier from our payment processor. We do not store full payment-card numbers; our payment processor handles those.
- Support correspondence: anything you send us by email or through the support chat on the Site.
We do not request, store, or transmit payment-card numbers (these are handled by our payment processor), protected health information, government identifiers, or your account password or other login credentials (sign-in is handled by our OAuth provider). The Service does use short-lived session tokens to operate the in-conversation preview; these are delivered directly to the preview and are never placed in the AI assistant's context (see Section V). We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded content to train our own models, and the AI processing we perform to compose your video runs on Google's Vertex AI; under Google Cloud's terms, Vertex AI does not use your content to train its models. The AI assistants through which you may access Glinded handle data under their own policies, as described in Section IV.
II. How We Use and Share Information
Personal Information
Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent.
We do share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Company, including:
- AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google), who process your inputs to provide AI-assisted video composition features
- Clerk, who provides authentication and identity management, including sign-in with third-party providers such as Facebook
- Google Cloud Platform and Firebase, who provide database, file storage, task processing, AI processing, and analytics infrastructure
- Uploadcare, who provides secure upload and content-delivery (CDN) of your files
- Epidemic Sound, who provides music search and licensing for paid features; your music search query is sent to their API
- Stripe, who processes payments for paid features and handles payment-card data directly
- Resend, who delivers transactional and informational emails on our behalf
- Vercel, who provides hosting and infrastructure for the Site, including privacy-friendly, cookieless usage analytics
- Crisp, who provides the live-chat support widget on the Site; the widget sets cookies and is loaded only after you accept it via the cookie-consent banner
- Meta (Facebook), who acts as your login provider when you choose to sign in with Facebook
Those vendors use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
In general, the Personal Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you. For example, we use Personal Information to contact users in response to questions, solicit feedback from users, provide technical support, and inform users about promotional offers.
We may share Personal Information with outside parties if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations; address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
Non-Personal Information
In general, we use Non-Personal Information to help us improve the Service and customize the user experience. We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site. We may share aggregated, non-identifying information with service providers who help us operate and improve the Service. We do not sell your information or share it for the independent advertising purposes of third parties.
If our information practices change at any time in the future, we will post the policy changes to the Site so that you may opt out of the new information practices. We suggest that you check the Site periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used.
Business Transfers
In the event we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of our assets may continue to process your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.
III. How We Protect Information
We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. Because sign-in is handled by third-party OAuth providers, Glinded never sees or stores your password; we urge you to keep your personal information safe by securing your sign-in provider account and by logging out of your account after each use.
We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
IV. Third-Party AI Providers and Data Processing
Our Service utilizes artificial intelligence technologies provided by third parties, including Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), and Google (Gemini). When you use AI-assisted features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Data Transmission
Your inputs, including text instructions and content derived from your uploaded media, may be transmitted to and processed by these third-party AI providers to enable the Service's functionality.
2. Third-Party Privacy Policies
The handling of your data by third-party AI providers is governed by their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review:
3. Data Retention by AI Providers
The AI processing Glinded performs to compose your video runs on Google's Vertex AI. Under Google Cloud's terms, Vertex AI does not use your content to train its models. Where you access the Service through a third-party AI assistant (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini), that platform handles the data in your conversation under its own terms and privacy policies, which may include retaining or using that data as described in those policies. We have limited control over those platforms' data practices.
4. MCP and API Access
When you access our Service through Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations or APIs via third-party AI platforms, your interactions are subject to both this Privacy Policy and the privacy policy of the AI platform you are using. The third-party platform may have its own data collection and retention practices.
V. How Your Data Flows Through Our Tools
The Service is available both as a website at www.glinded.com and as an app inside third-party AI assistants (currently ChatGPT, with Claude and Gemini to follow) using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). When you ask the assistant to do something with Glinded, it calls one of our tools. The table below shows what each group of tools receives from the assistant and what it returns, along with the service providers (identified in Section II) involved.
| Tool group | What it receives | What it returns | Providers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Project lifecycle | Project title, description, and identifiers from the assistant. | Your project records — the title, your free-text subject details (which may include a person's name, dates, and relationships), the memorial/celebration flag, and timestamps. | Google Cloud / Firebase |
| Asset uploads | A signed upload link and asset identifiers; you upload files directly to our upload provider. | Asset metadata — identifier, type, dimensions, duration, processing status, upload time, and original capture date where present. (Image/video preview links are delivered to the player widget, not to the assistant.) | Uploadcare, Google Cloud |
| File import (in-assistant) | A reference to a file you attached in the assistant. | An asset identifier and type. | Uploadcare, Google Cloud |
| Composition authoring | Composition source, properties, and edit instructions. | The composition source we generate — which can include on-screen text such as the subject's name, dates, and captions — plus a preview. | Google Cloud |
| Render & download | Project identifier and render parameters. | Render status and a signed download link. | Google Cloud |
| Music | A free-text music description. | Track metadata (title, artist(s), tempo, duration, and mood/genre tags). Audio previews are delivered to the player widget, not to the assistant. | Epidemic Sound, Google Cloud |
| Player widget | A reference to your composition. | An embeddable preview. | Google Cloud |
The AI assistant that hosts Glinded sees the inputs to these tool calls and the previews we return, because they appear in your conversation. This is platform behavior, not a Glinded design choice, and the host's own privacy policy governs that part of the exchange. For ChatGPT, see OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
We limit what each tool returns to the AI assistant to the fields it needs to complete your request, as listed in the table above. Sensitive operational data, such as the authentication tokens used by the in-conversation preview, is delivered directly to that preview component and is never placed in the AI assistant's context. We do not place your full-resolution original files in the AI assistant's context; you upload them to our storage provider, and the assistant works with previews and references that Glinded provides. If you attach a file directly within the assistant, that file is already visible to the assistant under its own privacy policy.
VI. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above.
- Project content: uploaded photos, videos, and audio, cached working files, the rendered video, and music-license records are deleted 30 days after the project was last accessed.
- Account data: retained while your account is active. When you request account deletion, we delete your account and associated Personal Information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
- Authentication tokens:short-lived and rotated per our identity provider's standards; revoked when you log out or delete your account.
- Billing records: retained as required for tax and accounting purposes, and by our payment processor under its own retention schedule.
- Technical logs: operational and request logs are retained for 30 days for security and debugging.
- Support correspondence: retained so we can maintain your support history, and deleted when you delete your account (or earlier on request).
- Analytics:retained per our analytics provider's default retention.
VII. Your Rights Regarding the Use of Your Personal Information
You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes. When we send a promotional communication to a user, the user can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each promotional e-mail.
You can also indicate that you do not wish to receive marketing communications from us by contacting us at help@glinded.com.
Please note that notwithstanding the promotional preferences you indicate, we may continue to send you administrative emails including, for example, periodic updates to our Privacy Policy.
Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated Personal Information by contacting us at help@glinded.com. Upon receiving such a request, we will delete your account and Personal Information from our systems within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Please note that we cannot delete data that has already been transmitted to and processed by third-party AI providers. You should contact those providers directly regarding their data retention and deletion policies.
Access and Portability
You may request a copy of the Personal Information we hold about you by contacting us at help@glinded.com. You can download your rendered videos from the Glinded studio; for a copy of other project data, contact us at the same address. We aim to respond to requests within 30 days.
Granular Deletion
You can delete an individual asset, an entire project, or your whole account. Assets and projects can be removed from within the product; to delete your entire account, use our account-deletion page or email help@glinded.com.
Cookies and Tracking
The Site uses strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences; our usage analytics are cookieless. The only optional cookies on the Site are those set by the Crisp live-chat support widget (Section II), and we ask for your consent before loading it: the widget loads only if you choose “Allow” in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the Site footer, and you can control or clear cookies through your browser at any time.
GDPR and UK GDPR
Glinded, Inc. is the controller of the Personal Information described in this Privacy Policy. VIII. Links to Other Websites
As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of a third party website accessed by selecting a link on our Site or via our Service. To the extent that you access or use the Service through or on another website or application, then the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your access or use of that site or application. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.
